Can you help us?
Hi! We’re Alison & Bruce, two creative artists and soulmates. And we’re getting married in September 2009! We’re going to have a science fiction-themed wedding with décor based on The Matrix trilogy of movies, starring Keanu Reeves and Laurence Fishburne. Nothing fancy or outrageously expensive – just a simple wedding with costumes, some glow sticks and fiber optic centerpieces.
So what’s the problem?
Alison’s surviving grandmother is 88-years-young and on oxygen (she had pneumonia 2 years ago and never quite recovered). She gets around just fine with her cane and portable oxygen tank, and traveling from Houston to New York City is manageable. However, she needs an oxygen supply ready and waiting when she gets here, and that kind of set-up is expensive. Her fixed income is going to keep her from attending our wedding which breaks her heart. She’s very upset since she attended the weddings of her other 3 grandchildren. A little info about Grandma Dorothy: she’s a “power walker” who used to out-walk Alison! She has always been Alison’s inspiration to work out and stay fit. Her motto is: “If you don’t use it, you lose it!” Even with portable oxygen, she never stops moving. It’s too bad money is the only thing stopping her now.
We’re not out to make a soap opera of our situation, but here’s the deal. We need about $2,000 for her to come to our wedding (airfare, hotel, oxygen tank, oxygen machine and tubing, portable bottles ready at airport pickup). As it is, we’re paying for a large portion of our wedding ourselves, and as “starving artist” types, you can imagine our lack of funds.
Can you help our romantic dreams come true by having Grandma Dorothy at our wedding? We’re asking for a very small gift from you, and we’d like to give you a gift in return. We’re offering you a chance to get t-shirts from our catalog before we launch the line next year. You can enjoy them before anyone else or any store gets them! So, you would be helping Grandma but also us by spreading the word about our t-shirt business and being seen in our designs before the stores get them. Take a look and please share this site with your friends. Every dollar brings Dorothy closer to our wedding!
We’re NOT looking to rip off anyone. Once we have collected what we need for Grandma Dorothy, all items will be marked “sold out.” We really appreciate your generosity! Grandma Dorothy and Alison especially will appreciate your help.
Stay tuned for updates and watch the money meter. Read our blog and sign our Guest book. Please share your wedding and grandma stories with us. We’d love to hear from you!

***100% SATISFACTION GUARANTEE***
Your “gift” is not a donation but a true sale for our business. As such, you are entitled to exchange or return your purchase for a full refund. Tell your friends! The price will increase when we launch the line next year at www.MakeUSmileTees.com
In order to keep exchanges down to a minimum, please choose your size carefully. All shirts will be printed on high-quality, 100% soft cotton, so allow for shrinkage. Measure your chest size from armpit to armpit, and choose accordingly. Feel free to email any questions.
PLEASE SHARE THIS SITE WITH YOUR FRIENDS!
Once we reach our goal, the sale will end and they’ll have to wait until next year to buy – at a higher price – while you strut around looking good! You wouldn’t do that to your friend, would you?!
